If you were looking forward to checking into Hazbin Hotel for Episode 9, prepare to be disappointed – it isn’t on tonight, and here’s why.

Vivienne Medrano’s bonkers, foot-tapping show has been a smash hit on Prime Video. Born from a viral pilot in the late 2010s, A24 was so impressed by its popularity that it ordered a full series.

It follows Charlie Morningstar (Erika Henningsen), the daughter of King Lucifer who dreams of offering demons and other seemingly evil sinners a safe haven to repent and rehabilitate themselves. Others aren’t quite so compassionate; namely, Adam and his bloodthirsty angels carry out an annual purge to prevent demonic overpopulation.

Episode 8 left a few questions unanswered, and while Hazbin Hotel fans may be excited to watch the next episode, we have some bad news.

Where is Hazbin Hotel Episode 9?

Hazbin Hotel Episode 9 isn’t on tonight… because it doesn’t exist. The first season ended with its eighth episode last week.

Don’t worry: Season 2 has already been green-lit and is currently in development. If you’re also a fan of Invincible, you may be filled with dread: its second season took nearly three years, so will Hazbin Hotel viewers be forced to wait that long?

The short answer: not quite. In an interview with Screen Rant, Medrano assured it won’t be “as long” a wait for the next season as the gap between the pilot and Season 1.

“I’m a big advocate for letting things take the time they need. And production, I mean, I literally actually don’t know the projected release date or aim or anything like that, but roughly Season 1 took about one-and-a-half, two years,” she said.

“So I think it’s probably similar, just because we are in the early stages. However, that’s not nearly as long of a wait, and that’s kind of a normal wait for animation. So it’ll be a normal wait for animation. But I do think it’ll be worth it.”
