Over the last few years of unmissable TV and movies, Hunter Schafer‘s name has routinely cropped up in conversation. Best known for her breakout role as Jules in HBO’s Euphoria, she’s since gone on to star in Belle, Cuckoo, and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
Away from the cameras, Schafer is also known for her LGBTQIA+ activism, particularly for her public stance against North Carolina’s anti-LGBT legislation bill HB2.

Why was Hunter Schafer arrested?
Hunter Schafer was arrested for “storming” President Biden’s taping of Late Night with Seth Myers on February 27, 2024, in order to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
According to the New York Post, Schafer attended the taping with the Jewish Voice for Peace organization, taking to sitting in the 30 Rock lobby in protest. The 25-year-old actress was there to call for a ceasefire in Gaza following the response to the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
In various photos, Schafer can be seen wearing a “Ceasefire now” T-shirt, with the group carrying signs including “Jews to Biden: Stop arming genocide.”
Since the initial reports surfaced, we know now that Hunter Schafer has been released, with fans praising her for her continued commitment to activism work.
“For people that don’t know, Hunter Schafer protested before for the end of HB2 law in North Carolina and always engaged in political movements since she was teen, hunter always fought for the people rights,” one fan posted on X/Twitter.
