Pink labels SpongeBob SquarePants song a “real mistake”

Pop star Pink has recently revealed that she regrets singing a song about scurvy for the kids’ animated series SpongeBob SquarePants.

When you think of iconic animated kids’ shows from the late ’90s to early ’00s, almost always your mind goes to SpongeBob SquarePants.

The series follows SpongeBob, a sponge living in the ocean city of Bikini Bottom, as he works as a fry cook and tries to brighten up everyone’s day no matter what.

A lot of celebrities have been associated with the brand over the years, but one pop star who sang a song for the show recently revealed the song itself was a huge mistake.

Pink cites SpongeBob song as her top two worst songs

During a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Grammy award-winning pop star Pink revealed the worst two songs she’s ever recorded.

Her first pick was True Love, which was a song about her ex-partner Carey Hart, and the other was the bop We’ve Got Scurvy from SpongeBob SquarePants.

“Oh wait, I did put out that ‘SpongeBob’ thing — ‘We’ve Got Scurvy,’” Pink said, “I wish I never did that. That was a real mistake.”

The song included lyrics about scurvy, a disease often associated with sailors who contracted it while out on sea. She also filmed a music video to accompany the single, in which she wore a pirate costume and appeared in a fish bowl.

Pink’s sailor-themed bop was featured in the SpongeBob episode Truth or Square, which saw SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs accidentally get locked in the freezer during a  Krusty Krab anniversary celebration.
