Netflix continues to flesh out its biopic category, with the likes of Griselda, about the most infamous female drug kingpin, and Maestro, centering on composer Leonard Bernstein, drawing interest in recent months. 

Given the latest entry, SuperSex, delves into one of the world’s most famous porn actors, you may have some preconceived notions about the show. However, it’s best to leave your expectations at the door – between the steamy scenes, it looks set to be a poignant watch.

As per the synopsis, “His family, his origins, his relationship with love, a profound story that goes through his life since childhood and reveals how and when Rocco Tano – a simple guy from Ortona – became Rocco Siffredi, the most famous pornstar in the world.”

No, Rocco Siffredi didn’t die – he is still alive and well and living in Hungary with his wife and two sons. The so-called Italian Stallion is currently 59 years old. 

The reason you might have heard rumors of his death is because of a fake news alert, making him the latest in a long line of celebrity death hoaxes. 

According to Mediamass, the phony Facebook announcement said: “At about 11am ET on Sunday (March 3, 2024), our beloved actor Rocco Siffredi passed away. Rocco Siffredi was born on May 4, 1964 in Ortona. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”

However, this is nothing more than a lie – Siffredi is still alive and kicking. 

SuperSex: Who is Rocco Siffredi?

Rocco Siffredi is an Italian pornographic actor, director, and producer who gained fame for his prolific career in the adult entertainment industry. Born on May 4, 1964, in Ortona, Italy, he began his career in the late 1980s and quickly became one of the most recognizable and iconic figures in the industry. 

Siffredi is renowned for his rugged looks, muscular physique, and intense performances, earning him the nickname the “Italian Stallion.” Throughout his career, he’s appeared in more than 1,300 pornographic films, ranging from romantic encounters to extreme and fetishistic scenes.

However, Siffredi hasn’t been without his issues over the years. After meeting Hungarian model Rosa Caracciolo in 1993, the pair got married and had kids. But during his initial retirement in the early ‘00s, he struggled with sex addiction. 

In 2015, he announced his retirement from porn once more for the sake of his family. More recently, he’s turned to advocating for various causes, including launching a petition for better sex education in Italy. 

Alessandro Borghi is set to play the adult film star in Netflix’s SuperSex, with Siffredi himself sharing praise for the series. Speaking at Berlin Film Festival where the show premiered, he said (via Reuters): “The actors were fantastic, they put their hearts into this story, without judging, without criticism, with heart, passion and a lot of love, to tell the life story of someone who has loved his job very much and who loves women very much.”

All seven episodes of SuperSex drop on Netflix on March 6.
