As Young Sheldon heads into its seventh and final season, fans wonder if Sheldon’s friend Billy Sparks will return.

After seven long seasons, it looks like The Big Bang Theory’s prequel spin-off series Young Sheldon is coming to an end.

The series follows the childhood of Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon Cooper, a child genius turned awkward adult and gives fans a closer look at how he grew up in rural Texas.

Season 7 is set to air very soon, but many fans have wondered if Billy Sparks, Sheldon’s neighbor and friend, will make another appearance before the series comes to a close, so here’s everything we know.

Will Billy Sparks return to Young Sheldon?

Yes, Billy Sparks will be featured in Young Sheldon Season 7 for a few episodes.

Billy’s actor Wyatt McClure recently posted a photo of his trailer from the Young Sheldon set with his character’s name written on the door.

“It was nice to see everyone and I’m grateful to be back on set,” McClure wrote on his post along with various Young Sheldon related hashtags.

In The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon cites Billy as one of his biggest childhood bullies, going so far as to recall a memory of Billy shoving a Mexican Peso up his nose.

However, in Young Sheldon, Billy is rarely mean to Sheldon and actually acts as one of the young genius’ only friends.

Though Billy was seen in Season 6, he didn’t have a big role to play in the story, but his appearance in Season 7 could spell a whole lot of trouble for the Coopers as Billy’s mother, Brenda, almost had an affair with Sheldon’s father, George.

After being confronted by Sheldon’s mother, Mary, about this almost explicit experience, it seems like things were resolved between the Sparks and Cooper families but, with McClure returning for the final season, some fans speculate that the dust may not have fully settled between everyone just yet.
