The Rising of the Shield Hero has entertained us with three spectacular action-packed seasons and now, it is all set to come up with another mind-boggling installment.
The anime series returned with a third season last year. It featured 12 amazing episodes and the season came to an end in December 2023.
The story of a shield hero rising in the ranks has engrossed many fans. Of course, the series never became a breakout hit like Solo Leveling or Jujutsu Kaisen, but it still boasts a cult following. It is evident from the fact that the series was renewed for a new season only one month after Season 3’s conclusion.
The Rising of the Shield Hero to return with Season 4
Kinema Citrus recently announced that the fourth season of The Rising of the Shield Hero is already in production. The announcement came ahead of the much-awaited Anime Japan 2024 event. The voice actor Kaito Ishikawa announced the upcoming season on a radio program.
The information was also accompanied by a beautiful yet mysterious key visual. The poster doesn’t feature much but it showcases lightning, a bird, and an isolated place. Judging from the teaser, it is safe to say that the upcoming season will have a dark aesthetic, making us worry about our beloved shield hero.
The Season 4 announcement was indeed surprising and unexpected, but it’s still too soon for the studio to give us an exact release date. If we consider the series’ previous timeline, we can expect the new episodes to hit our screens by the end of 2024.
Nevertheless, it’s still an assumption and the series might push to early next year if there are any production delays. We have also yet to see any official trailer from the studio. The creators might give us the trailer along with the release date announcement.
