Sentinels have dropped their Apex Legends IGL Cole ‘Rkn’ Prommel following a spat online about his place on the roster with TSM’s Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen.

Rkn announced late on October 24 that he has parted ways with Sentinels and is looking for a new team, or for two other players, to compete in the preseason North American Pro League qualifiers. The move comes over a week after the former Sentinels IGL was heavily criticized by TSM captain ImperialHal over his performance at the 2023 ALGS Championship.

Hal also called into question his spot on the Sentinels roster, saying that some people who are captains or IGLs for teams don’t bench themselves after poor performances. Rkn hit back on social media at the TSM star for his criticisms, saying he hasn’t had a free ride on any team since he started competing.

Almost two weeks after the exchange, Rkn is out at Sentinels and is looking to return to ALGS on a different roster.

“I can lead a team to LAN next split. Four years I’ve never had a long-term roster and still made almost every Finals. I will give you the best version of myself to date. The players I respect, respect me for what I’m capable of. That’s all that matters to me,” Rkn said on social media.

Sentinels make major change to Apex Legends roster

Rkn joined Sentinels after The Guard allowed its Apex team to explore other options following the org’s downsizing. Sentinels had just dropped its previous roster and picked up the team after its top 20 showing at the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs.

The squad slowly changed over the course of 2023 as Beau ‘RamBeau’ Sheidy retired for a short time and Keon ‘Keon’ Berghout parted ways with the team. Despite the roster overhaul, Rkn and the squad managed to qualify for the ALGS Championship and placed in the top 30.

The Apex Legends esports off-season is ongoing as squads shuffle around players before the league starts back up in January 2024.

The Sentinels lineup is now the following:

  • Angello ‘Xenial’ Cadenas
  • Israel ‘Koyful’ Lawrence
