Baldur’s Gate 3 players are taking the time to acknowledge the game’s most short-lived companion that no one talks about.

For the most part, the companions in Baldur’s Gate 3 are not one-time interactions and will stick with you throughout the game’s entire story.

However, this isn’t always the case as some companions will only join you for a short time to help with a situation before leaving your party for good.

Now, the Baldur’s Gate 3 community is taking the time to pay their respects to Us, a companion that is only in the game for a brief period of time.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players pay homage to Us

The prologue of Baldur’s Gate 3 gives players a chance to work with Us, a small intellect devourer that looks like a brain. However, once the prologue is done, Us leaves the game for a while.

The community has taken to the game’s subreddit to pay respects to Us, as they see them as a little-discussed companion.

The post is titled “Us appreciation thread,” and features fans sharing their love for the tiny brain.

As one user says: “Love my brain kitty.”

Other players are pointing out that you can miss having Us as a companion entirely when you meet him: “It was sneaky of bg3 to introduce an option to mutilate him in the very first minutes of the game for possibly sound reasons…”

And the fact that Us was the brain of another person doesn’t matter to some: “Idk and Idc who the elf was, his brain is my child.”

Many also are taking the time to discuss how you can encounter Us again later on in the experience, just in a much worse situation.

If players choose to mutilate Us at the beginning, they will appear later on as an optional boss. However, this is far from the outcome that the Baldur’s Gate 3 community wants.
