One of Baldur’s Gate 3’s strongest selling points is the number of companions and storylines you can get invested in, but do any of them need a little extra love?

Between your engaging camp followers and the wide range of NPC side quests in Baldur’s Gate 3, you can hardly move a few steps without finding another character to obsess over.

Everyone has their preferences, and several of the most well-known party members have emerged as clear fan favorites, such as Shadowheart and Astarion.

However, it was inevitable that some characters wouldn’t get as much love, which has led to players who like them calling on the community to show a bit more appreciation. One of the game’s main party members has been the biggest recipient of this, and to everyone’s surprise, it’s not Halsin.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players want Lae’zel to get more recognition

One player who enjoyed Lae’zel’s storyline took to the official Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit to describe why the Githyanki was deserving of more attention.

They said: “I was surprised to learn that early on she was one of the least liked characters. She’s one of the pragmatic characters and whereas other characters let their morals control them and think they’re morally better, Lae’zel is all about the end goal and pivots quite a bit.

“She’s still flawed and picks another cause to champion but seeing her change, how can you not like her?”

One player suggested that she was less popular than other characters as opinions were largely based on first interactions when the game first launched, as that was when most players decided who the best characters were.

“I think sentiment for Lae’zel has changed drastically now that BG3 has been out for a bit. She has one of the best redemption arcs of the game In my opinion,” they commented.

Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be a redemption arc for Halsin just yet.
