Modern Warfare 3 bug forces two players in an old-fashioned standoff

One Modern Warfare 3 player encounters a hilarious bug during an execution, forcing both players into an awkward standoff.

Modern Warfare 3’s early access beta is in full swing, throwing players into the next iteration of the shooter. Whether it’s the return to old maps such as Highrise or Favela or the rage-inducing “Battle Rage“, there’s plenty to experience in MW3’s beta.

One player uncovered something new while playing the beta, although their experience was likely unintentional.

An unlikely bug during an execution turns what should’ve been an easy kill into a comedic chain of events that left both players dead.

Modern Warfare 3 execution bug turns an easy kill into a standoff

The execution system has created plenty of memorable moments since it was introduced in 2019’s Modern Warfare. Plenty of videos and clips showed how wonky the animations can be, causing players to break the animation with little explanation.

The latest execution mishap occurs to a MW3 player during a match of Ground War. Creeping up behind a foe and triggering the execution forces both players into an awkward standoff, where both members died after a strange “T Pose” encounter.

While rare, this experience has been documented before, as plenty of executions have ended in this strange standoff. More players are bound to experience it, so try your best to avoid close-quarter executions such as the one above in the beta if you want an efficient kill on your opponent.

As comedic as it can be, here’s hoping Sledgehammer Games can nail this bug down to keep it from happening too often and ruining the satisfaction that can come with executions.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3’s beta is live now for PS5 players, and the full game releases on November 10.
