BOCW Dec 10 patch notes: Scorestreak changes, Nuketown 24/7, more

Tanner Pierce

Treyarch have released yet another small update for Black Ops Cold War. This time, Nuketown 24/7 has returned, scorestreaks have gotten some major tuning, and Zombies got some more fixes. Here’s what you need to know.

The Black Ops Cold War updates just don’t stop. Treyarch have once again addressed a number of different problems with the game in its current state, fixing bugs, and making fine-tuned adjustments to some major features, while also addressing some community desires.

This time around, it’s a bit of smaller update, just like most of the ones that Treyarch releases for the game nowadays. That being said, it’s the second one within a couple days, and it makes some notable adjustments, so it’s worth breaking down.

Biggest changes in the December 10 update

One of the biggest additions with the December 10 update is the return of Nuketown 24/7. This Nuketown ’84-only playlist is back by popular demand after it was removed a few days back. It’s unknown when it’ll be removed from the game, presumably during its Season 1 update, but hopefully fans will be able to enjoy it while it’s here.

Beyond that, however, a number of different adjustments were made to the game’s scorestreaks. While damage tweaks were made to the Artillery and Napalm Strike streaks, three other scorestreaks got their costs adjusted dramatically, which may end up changing the metgame even more.

Finally, changes were also made to the game’s Zombies mode. The most notable, however, is a fix to a bug that was causing the Hunter Mastery Calling Card to remain locked, even if you’ve already completed all of the Hunter challenges up until that point.

Of course, that’s not all that was fixed in the new update. A slew of bugs and general stability problems were addressed — including a small bug that was causing the battle pass UI to show up even though Season 1 hasn’t started yet.

Overall, it’s a significant enough update, and while it doesn’t address any weapon tuning issues (that’ll be addressed in the Season 1 update, according to Treyarch), it does touch on some scorestreaks that have been dominating the game for a while now.
