Warzone content creator and competitor Swagg has outlined his go-to FFAR class for Season 4, claiming that the classic Black Ops Cold War assault rifle is back to being meta after its major buff.

The FFAR once ruled the roost in Call of Duty: Warzone, ascending to the strongest all-round weapon in the battle royale back in Black Ops Cold War’s life-cycle.

However, buffs and nerfs in the subsequent seasons have seen it spend much of Vanguard’s life-cycle as a mediocre option, mainly because of its modest damage and volatile recoil.

It was buffed in Season 4 – the newest content update for Warzone – which dropped back on June 22. According to competitive player Swagg, it’s back on top following that buff.

The FFAR has fallen away somewhat in Caldera, but could well be back in Season 4.

In a June 24 YouTube video, the Warzone content creator outlined his love for the post-patch FFAR, claiming it’s once again an incredibly strong option for Caldera, Rebirth Island, and Fortune’s Keep.

The patch in question saw it maximum damage range increased to 28.6 meters, up from 25.4 meters, essentially meaning that it does higher damage at longer ranges, taking less shots to kill even when opponents are some way away.

Describing it as “ridiculous” and “one of the most sought out” weapons in Warzone, Swagg believes it could dominate Season 4 like it has in previous seasons.

He also outlined his class setup, seeking to make the most of the gun’s high fire rate. His loadout is detailed below:

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: Raider Stock
  • Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap
  • Magazine: Salvo 50 Rnd Fast Mag

With no optics and limited recoil controlling attachments, Swagg’s loadout makes the most of the close to medium range strength of the FFAR.

Even with the buff to its damage range, longer-distance gunfights could see players outgunned by more stable weapons like the Kilo 141.

You’ll most likely want to run a sniper alongside the FFAR, with no better option currently than the ultra-powerful HDR.
