Call of Duty: Warzone players can’t believe developers didn’t remove the “pointless” intro cutscene in Season 2.

The Urzikstan update in late 2023 replaced the pre-match cutscene for WZ 2.0 with a brand-new introductory sequence. Longtime Warzone players weren’t happy in the least bit.

Many called the intro cringe-inducing and argued that it overstayed its welcome, especially since people were eager to dive into the game.

Players had high hopes that developers would address the criticism in a future update. However, the recent rollout of Season 2 indicates the much-disliked cutscene is sticking around for an indeterminate period of time.

Warzone players hate that the intro cutscene wasn’t removed

After the Warzone Season 2 launch, Redditor who goes by CreaytoR shared a screenshot as proof that the loathed intro’s still in place.

“Can’t believe they didn’t remove this intro or at least change it with season 2… I’m getting tired of getting told to wash my a**,” reads the caption.

Even a cursory glance through the comments shows a contingent of fans agree – Warzone developers should remove the cutscene.

One reply reads, “I cringe every time before deployment.”

Another Reddit user chimed in to say, “I don’t get why they don’t let you skip that and the pre-game warm-up entirely.”

Someone else slammed the scene for feeling “so damn pointless.” However, a few people argued that it may have a purpose.

One person posited, “It’s server spinup time I am pretty sure,” suggesting the game needs time to boot up essentially. If so, it seems fans wouldn’t be angry if Call of Duty developers found another way for them to pass the time pre-match.
