Zeus Hits Out at Thorin Following Natus Vincere’s ESL One: Cologne Win

Danylo ‘Zeus’ Teslenko has responded to criticism from Duncan ‘Thorin’ Shields with some heated words after Na’Vi took the ESL One: Cologne 2018 title.

The 30 year old Ukrainian is often the subject of criticism when Natus Vincere’s CS:GO team struggles to perform as he tends to be one of the weakest players in terms of statistics.

However, as an in-game leader he is one of the most successful in the history of any iteration of Counter-Strike, winning major international titles in both 1.6 and Global Offensive.

Zeus returned to his position in Na’Vi in August of 2017 but the team struggled to find the form that was expected of them, even with Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyliev performing like the best player in the history of the game.

Circumstances have changed now, though, and Zeus has led the team to three tournament wins in a row, including an impressive victory at the $300,000 ESL One: Cologne tournament on July 8th.

After taking the win, Zeus took to Twitter to respond to some criticism from Thorin’s comments about him being a “great leader but what a bot”, and he didn’t hold back:

The storied player clearly doesn’t rate Thorin’s opinions, saying that he doesn’t believe he is competent or “worthy of being an analyst”.

While the two clearly won’t be the best of friends at the moment, it seems likely that they will be able to squash the beef when emotions aren’t running so high.

Natus Vincere’s ESL One: Cologne win was the biggest that they have picked up since forming the current roster and was yet more evidence of Denis ‘electronic’ Sharipov coming into his own and sharing the heavy lifting with s1mple.

While it is unlikely that Zeus will ever be the team’s top performer on the scoreboard, his vision for roster finally seems to be materialising as he leads them to ever more impressive results.
