Can you reset your TikTok For You Page?

Resetting your For You Page on TikTok is a great way to reset the type of content you get from the algorithm, but sometimes it might also be necessary to get the app to work better.

Most TikTok users watch content by scrolling through their For You Page, which as the name suggests is a feed tailored specifically to each user according to an algorithm that tracks what users are interested in.

However, you may find that you are frequently recommended things that you no longer have an interest in, or that aren’t relevant to you at all. So, is there a way to start fresh and reset your For You Page on the platform?

How to reset the TikTok For You Page

As of March 2023, users can completely reset their For You pages on TikTok, and it’s a really easy process.

To reset your FYP, simply follow the following steps.

1. Open your app
2. Click on your profile page, and go to settings
3. Click on your content preferences
4. Select the “Refresh Your For You feed” option.
5. From there, click the “Refresh” button. TikTok will warn you that this action cannot be undone.

From here, you can go back to your FYP, which will have reset, and start engaging in the content you want to see more of.
