PFL star Cedric Doumbe wants to fight Jake Paul if his opponent for his March 7 fight doesn’t make weight, which would come just days after Jake’s return to the ring on March 2.

When Jake Paul first got involved with the world of combat sports, he was solely focused on boxing. However, after years of crossover fights with athletes from different disciplines, he’s become increasingly open to a mixed martial arts fight.

‘The Problem Child’ did, at first, have his eyes on fighting in the UFC, but that was quickly shut down by UFC President Dana White as the two engaged in a war of words about pay-per-view sales and fighter compensation.

Since then, Jake has signed a deal with the Professional Fighter’s League – PFL – to make his MMA debut in their Super Fights division. There have been plenty of callouts to be his first dance partner inside the cage, but the newest one wants to make it happen soon.

PFL star Cedric Doumbe wants Jake Paul fight on March 7

The most recent callout has come from Cedric Doumbe, who competes in the PFL’s Welterweight division, and has got a win in the boxing ring under his belt.

Doumbe is currently slated to take on Baissangour Chamsoudinov on March 7, but there have been concerns about his opponent making weight. If that does happen, he wants to take on Jake instead.

“Maybe I’m gonna fight, I don’t know. I’m gonna choose maybe Jake Paul! Maybe Jake Paul. But I mean Jake Paul is the guy. If I fight against Jake Paul, I think the Stade de France would be full in an hour,” the kickboxer told Ariel Helawni during his appearance on The MMA Hour. “He’s bigger than me, for sure. Same height but bigger than me. But I like when I’m fit. I don’t like to do the weight cut.”

It is an ambitious ask from the Cameroonian fighter, given that Jake is scheduled to fight on March 2 against a, as of yet, unannounced opponent.

PFL boss Peter Murray has confirmed that the YouTuber-turned-boxer will finally step into the cage in 2024, but he hasn’t committed to a concrete date yet. So, it remains to be seen when it’ll happen.
