G2 Esports and paysafecard have announced that they are teaming up to create a new talent competition for Fortnite content creators called ‘Making the Squad’.

The contest will be one of the first team-produced talent shows in the industry and will pair the incredibly popular Fortnite Battle Royale with some of the best up-and-coming entertainers over a period of eight weeks.

When the interactive show will begin is currently uncertain, but it is open to any Fortnite content creators over the age of 16. Anyone interested in signing up only has until November 8 to do so.

Entrants will need to upload “a highlight reel of their Fortnite gameplay, and self-recorded video explaining why they want to join G2.” The judges will then begin to work through the submissions before interviewing 20 semi-finalists.

“At G2, we’ve always been focused on providing top quality entertainment to fans old and new,” said Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodriguez, CEO of G2 Esports. “We’re are constantly dreaming up new ways to interact with the industry and provide pathways for talented pros dreaming of going big. This will be our first original content production, but we believe that the G2ARMY will really enjoy tuning in. We can’t wait to meet the newest entertainers for G2 Esports.”

@CarlosR / TwitterOcelote will be leading the judges panel for the competition.

You can enter the contest by heading over to the official website here and uploading the relevant videos. The semi-finalists will be asked to take part in a series of interactive online challenges before being narrowed down to eight finalists.

The finals will be hosted in Berlin, where the final eight contestants will be asked to show what they’re capable of in the last set of challenges. The four most entertaining players will then win a streaming contract with G2.

Oliver Wolf, VP of Marketing at paysafecard, said: “Supporting one of the world’s first international, interactive talent shows to find the next big influencer in Fortnite, is a fantastic way for us to connect the paysafecard brand with the esports community in an authentic, meaningful way.

“Continuously engaging in innovative projects in esports that enable and activate our fans, is a major part of our commitment to help the industry grow, and we’re thrilled to embark on in this journey together with our partner G2 Esports.”
