Genshin Impact Version 2.7: Yelan release, Xiao rerun, Core of the Apparatus event, more

The Genshin Impact 2.7 update is finally here, giving Travelers the chance to unlock Yelan and take part in the new Core of the Apparatus event among others. Here’s everything you need to know.

Genshin Impact Version 2.7 has already introduced Yelan, with Kuki Shinobu being scheduled for release soon, and plenty of other exciting content for Travelers to delve into. While the 2.6 update saw the release of Ayato and the long-awaited reveal of The Chasm, HoYoverse has a lot planned before players head over to Sumeru. 

The 2.7 livestream had given Genshin Impact players a brief idea of what they could expect from the latest update. Now that the update has been released globally, make sure to go through everything new that this update has to offer. With various new events and multiple new character releases, it is safe to say that Genshin Impact 2.7 is a real treat for the community.

Genshin Impact Version 2.7 release date

The Genshin Impact 2.7 release date is nearly here.

HoYoverse has officially revealed the Genshin Impact 2.7 release date, which went live on May 31st, 2022. The developers also announced that 2.7 will run for six weeks, while 2.8 is expected to release on July 13th, 2022.

This means Travelers won’t have to wait too much longer to take part in all the upcoming content and banner releases.

Genshin Impact 2.7 live stream

The Genshin Impact Version 2.6 livestream date was recently announced by HoYoverse and was held on May 20, 2022. Travelers can watch the Hidden Dreams in the Depths trailer above.

Yelan is the new 5-star character debuting in the 2.7 update.

Yelan has released in the first half of the 2.7 update. This means Travelers will be able to spend their Primogems on her banner as soon as the update goes live on May 31st, 2022.

HoYoverse also confirmed that Yelan has a Hydro vision and utilizes a Bow, which she uses to obliterate her enemies safely from afar. Her signature weapon is the Aqua Simulacra bow

Yelan is a “mysterious person who claims to work for the Ministry of Civil Affairs,” while she often appears in various guises. 

HoYoverse revealed that Yelan’s “Discerner of Enigmas” banner will include the following characters:

  • Yelan – a five-star Hydro bow character.
  • Yanfei – a four-star Pyro catalyst character.
  • Barbara – a four-star Hydro catalyst character.
  • Noelle – a four-star Geo claymore character.

Xiao will be getting another rerun in 2.7.

Xiao is also accompanying Yelan in the 2.7 update, with the Adeptus getting his own banner rerun. This obviously is very exciting news for Travelers, particularly those who have yet to unlock him.

The five-star rated Anemo-elemental character was last available in January 2022. In fact, his appearance in 2.7 marks the third time the Polearm-wielding Adeptus has been available in Genshin Impact.

HoYoverse revealed Xiao’s “Invitation to Mundane Life banner will feature the following characters:

  • Xiao – a five-star Anemo polearm character.
  • Yanfei – a four-star Pyro catalyst character.
  • Barbara – a four-star Hydro catalyst character.
  • Noelle – a four-star Geo claymore character.

Itto banner rerun featuring Kuki Shinobu

Kuki Shinobu will be featured alongside Arataki Itto.

Kuki Shinobu will release in the second half of the 2.7 release, alongside Itto — the game’s resident troublemaker. While HoYoverse didn’t reveal when the second phase of 2.7 would being, it will likely be revealed three weeks into the update, on June 21, 2022.

HoYoverse revealed that Kuki Shinobu is the Deputy Leader of the Arataki Gang. This Electro Sword user is often responsible for keeping Itto’s antics in check and has even been dubbed as Itto’s “little sidekick”.

The Mender of Tribulations utilizes her Electro skills to heal her allies, while also dealing AoE Electro damage to nearby foes.

New Archon Quest: Perilous Trail

The Perilous Trail Archon Quest will delve into the history of Liyue.

The “Perilous Trail” event in Version 2.7 has brought players back to The Chasm with a new Archon Quest story and a series of rewarding challenges. It’s here where Travelers will team up with Yanfei, Yelan, Arataki Itto, and Kuki Shinobu, as they strive to survive the depths.

As the story progresses, players will discover how the people of Liyue fought off monsters 500 years ago, as well as learn about the yakshas’ role in the game’s history.

Realms of Guile and War challenge

Realms of Guile and War will feature plenty of tough enemies.

Playing through the new story quest will also unlock the combat challenge “Realms of Guile and War,” which will task Travelers with battling it out in four challenge domains.

In order to survive the incoming threats, players need to carefully create their party setup and enhance them with various Stratagem buffs. Rewards for completing the Domain challenges include an event-exclusive four-star bow — Fading Twilight, which is available in the event shop.

A Muddy Bizarre Adventure event

Hosseini the Sumeru scholar has found some dark mud-like substance pouring out of the caverns and mines in The Chasm. Travelers will need to help clear the mud, weaken monsters, and complete various tasks within the time limit.

These range from defeating nearby threats to escorting a hot air balloon with the Lumenstone Adjuvant and special installations called the Pursina’s Spikes.

Core of the Apparatus event

Core of the Apparatus will enable Travelers to create their own robots.

In another event, “Core of the Apparatus,” players can help a toy merchant from Fontaine to create robotic models, and receive robotic furnishings to be placed in the Serenitea Pot. Not much is known about this event, but HoYoverse will likely reveal more details in the weeks to come.

Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival

While the Irodori Festival may be over, the Arataki Gang is preparing a unique festival of its own. In order to celebrate Shinobu’s graduation from law studies in Liyue, Travelers will be able to celebrate in style with a new instrument.

By using an unlockable drum, players can attempt to set new high scores for various in-game rewards.

The Version 2.7 trailer “Hidden Dreams in the Depths” has given Travelers a glimpse of Yelan and Kuki Shinobu — with both characters showcasing their Elemental Skills and Bursts.
