The start of February is near, and that means baseball season. But before the start of Spring Training, MLB The Show developer Sony San Diego announced what’s to come in The Show 24.

On January 30, San Diego Studio confirmed first details for MLB The Show 24.

And, front and center will be one of the game’s brightest young stars: 2023 Home Run Derby champion Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

During San Diego Studio’s official release announcement on January 30, the developer of the title confirmed that Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will be on the cover of MLB The Show 24.

The three-time All-Star will take the reigns after Jazz Chisholm Jr. During the release announcement, Guerrero Jr. stated that he’s played the game as a kid and that’s not much of a shock. Guerrero Jr. has his own “Real 99” card in MLB The Show 23.

Vlad Jr. will follow in the footsteps of his father, Vladimir Guerrero. Guerrero Sr. was on the cover of MLB 2006, developed by 989 Sports and a precursor to the MLB The Show franchise.

On top of the cover reveal, SDS also confirmed a number of new details for MLB The Show 24.

Arguably the most notable one aside from the cover is that MLB The Show 24 will be available for old-gen consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One, as well as the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch.

Lastly, Sony San Diego confirmed that MLB The Show 24 will be released worldwide on March 19. There will also be a Collector’s Edition, like other years. More details on that will be announced on February 6.
