The Monster Hunter Now Lucky Lunar New Year update will take place from February 1, 2024, at 9:00 am (local time) until February 15, 2024, at 11:59 pm (local time).

Lucky Lunar New Year (Fortune Gathering)

These quests are themed around gathering Fortune Lanterns, event-specific items that come in white, red, and gold. Some colors are harder to find than others!

Lucky Lunar New Year (Hunt-a-thon)

Monster Hunter Now’s Lucky Lunar New Year Hunt-a-thon features five levels of quests, with a final Urgent Quest featuring Pink Rathian.

• Gatherable materials (including Carpenterbugs)
• Monster materials (including Pink Rathian Plates)

Lucky Lunar New Year (Challenge)

The Monster Hunter Now Lucky Lunar New Year Challenge quests will offer tough content for players to try and beat. Some of the quests will feature six-star monsters and higher, but if you manage to complete the challenges, you’ll be rewarded with rare materials like Wyvern Gem Shards.

Monster Hunter Now Lucky Lunar New Year Pink Rathian return

Pink Rathian will be returning during the Lucky Lunar New Year event, appearing on the map and in Hunt-a-thons during the event. Upon successfully defeating Pink Rathian, you’ll receive either an LNY 2024 Hammer Ticket or an LNY 2024 Dual Blades Ticket as a bonus reward.

Hunters will also receive one of these tickets as a bonus reward for each monster defeated at a Hunt-a-thon Point.

Monster Hunter Now Lucky Lunar New Year weapons & armor

During the Monster Hunter Now Lucky Lunar New Year event, Hunters can grab three exclusive pieces of equipment. These have been listed below:

Lucky Dragon Hammer (hammer)

• Element: Dragon
• Skill: Divine Blessing
• Skill effect: Chance of reducing damage received from a monster’s attack.
• Required ticket: LNY 2024 Hammer Ticket
• Number of tickets required to forge or upgrade: 20

Fortune Dragon Fans (dual blades)

• Element: Dragon
• Skill: Divine Blessing
• Skill effect: Chance of reducing damage received from a monster’s attack.
• Required ticket: LNY 2024 Dual Blades Ticket
• Number of tickets required to forge or upgrade: 20

Dragon Dance Mask (headwear)

• Skill: Critical Boost
• Skill effect: Increases the damage multiplier of critical hits.
• Required ticket: LNY 2024 Armor Ticket
• Number of tickets required to forge or upgrade: 6

It’s important to note, that Hunters will need to have completed Chapter 2 to be able to forge the Hammer or Dual Blades. Players also need to get LNY 2024 Armor Tickets to forge the Dragon Dance Mask, while the Lucky Dragon Hammer and Fortune Dragon Fans will be forged from the tickets you gather as rewards for Pink Rathian hunts and Hunt-a-thons.

Additionally, Pink Rathian materials are required to forge and upgrade these weapons, so be sure to hunt as many of these deadly subspecies as possible during the event.
