Pokemon Go players are slamming Niantic for deactivating their compensation rewards after only an hour, meaning plenty missed out on its content.

While major problems are rare, Pokemon Go isn’t perfect and will occasionally make a few mistakes, leaving players the chance to grab unreleased Pokemon, or even rendering highly anticipated events relatively obsolete thanks to bugs, poor rollouts, or otherwise.

Thankfully, while they’re undeniably frustrating, Niantic aims to nullify any irritation by granting players compensation rewards when required. These can contain key resources for fans, and are usually pretty handy for anyone with an empty backpack – that is, if you can get hold of the rewards before they expire.

Pokemon Go players miss out on compensation rewards due to short timer

Sharing their frustration on Reddit, one Pokemon Go player revealed that the “Compensation box disappears after an hour” proving just how short the active period was.

“Hilarious how you can’t claim the box if you already had 3 remotes saved in your bag despite 5 being the daily limit, and then once you actually do a remote raid to lower ur counter the box disappears Niantic once again proves they’re the ultimate despicable troll” added the poster. Being unable to claim the box can be frustrating, but nothing’s more annoying than losing the ability to unlock it due to a short time limit.

It seems the poster isn’t the only one to suffer from this time limit: “This exact thing happened to me. so mad rn”

Many fans had the same issues regarding not being able to claim the box, and one player seemed to suffer the most, highlighting how they “did 3 remote raids as fast as I could to claim it but by the time I was done alas they were gone from the shop and I’m down 3 raid passes.”

It seems both the time limit and cap on rewards can make it pretty tough for players to feel compensated, with many calling for the boxes to be extended.

The poster revealed helpful advice for anyone coming across the compensation boxes: ” if you see free stuff in shop claim it IMMEDIATELY.”
