Pokemon fan gives Oddish a makeover and the results are terrifying

A Pokemon fan with an interesting vision has given Oddish a makeover in a pencil drawing; some may find it a little unsettling.

A Gen-1 grass/poison-type monster, Oddish appears in the form of a small plant bulb. Short legs and beady eyes count among the little creature’s other most notable characteristics.

Even evolved versions of Oddish – like Gloom and Vileplume – maintain the same general form factor. But what would happen if this particular Pokemon grew into something grander, something taller and more leggy?

Apparently, one fan ran the idea through its paces, which resulted in a rather eerie new design for the Gen-1 creature.

Pokemon fan gives Oddish long legs in makeover drawing

Reddit user gamingbyDoge claims to have spent quite a long time working on an original design for Oddish. They shared the following in a recent post, “I stayed up until 3 am a couple of days ago drawing a long-legged oddish.”

Naturally, a photo of the long-legged Oddish drawing accompanied the post. It’s about as offputting as one would expect, especially since the legs themselves are very… finely drawn, like a ballerina with a plant bulb for a body.

Of course, fan-made Pokemon redesigns are nothing new. But this Oddish makeover is unsettling to some Pokemon fans, one of whom wrote, “This is the most cursed thing I’ve seen today.” Another Reddit user remarked, “this one’s been in the premium soil for a really long time before coming out.”

Others expressed a mixture of feelings, with someone commenting that they felt dread and aroused at the same time. One person who agreed likened the phenomenon to seeing Silent Hill nurses.

Comparisons to Patrick’s long legs in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie were thrown around, too. And one fan went so far as to request the long-legged Oddish receive a pair of “fishnet pants.” Strange as it may seem, fishnets would probably help complete the look.
