Francis Ngannou calls Jon Jones “f****** fat”
DAZNFrancis Ngannou heckled Jon Jones at the PFL vs Bellator event in Saudi Arabia after Jones predicted Anthony Joshua to win their bout next month.
Joshua and Ngannou will meet in Riyadh on March 8 and the anticipation is high following Ngannou’s impressive showing against Tyson Fury last October.
Fury was expected to comfortably beat Ngannou but only emerged victorious via a controversial split decision, with many believing the UFC star had done enough to win on his professional boxing debut.
Next up for Ngannou is a showdown with another British boxing hero, as he prepares to take on former world champion Joshua in under a fortnight’s time.
However, one of his UFC colleagues is backing him to taste a second successive defeat in the ring, with Jones backing Joshua to record a 28th career victory.
“I’m rooting for Frances to win, because of his story, how far he’s come in life, him being a fellow mixed martial artist,” Jones said. “How could you not root for Frances? He’s a wonderful stand-up person, I’m rooting for him but Anthony Joshua has been doing this since he was a young boy and I’m the type of guy who gives respect where it’s due.
“If I had to put my money on it, not that I gamble, I will put it on Joshua, but I am rooting for Frances.”
The camera instantly panned to Ngannou, who shouted: “Oooh, you’re losing your money!”
There was also an awkward moment in the interview when Jones backed himself to beat Ngannou, before the camera panned to Ngannou saying: “In your dreams, you are f****** fat.”
