The lineup includes the successors of the highly popular LG G3 and C3 – LG G4 OLED and C4 OLED. These TVs are a part of affordable and mid-range OLED TVs from LG and are among the fastest-selling TVs in their segment.

Both LG G4 and C4 OLED TVs offer a best-in-class viewing experience, have a premium design, near bezel-less frame for immersive viewing, and flagship features; these TVs are designed for a separate user base entirely.

Now that the pricing has been made official, it is time to compare the two TVs and see which TV offers better value for your money and fulfills your requirements. LG G4 Vs LG C4: Design, specs & features

LG G4 OLED TV

When it comes to the design of these TVs, LG has mostly stayed the same here. Both the TVs look similar to their predecessors, with some cosmetic changes here and there. After all, why change when it isn’t broken?

That said, while users were happy with the TVs sitting flush with the wall when wall mounted, the LG G4’s smaller variants – 55-inches and 65-inches – will offer users an option to place them on a media cabinet. LG will include a stand with these TVs for users who do not have enough space to mount the TV on a wall. The bigger variants, however, are designed and meant to be wall-mounted.

As for the LG C4, all variants except the 42-inch version will come with a stand, while smaller TVs will ship with feet instead. This was the same with the LG C3 as well.

In terms of specs, the LG G4 has a new Alpha 11 chip, bringing a 70% improvement in graphics power and a 30% boost to general processing. This is LG’s most powerful chip on a TV and comes with several new AI-powered features, including AI picture mode features, improved brightness, and the ability to stream lossless Dolby Atmos audio to a compatible LG Soundbar.

All the LG G4 variants, except the massive 97-inch version, come with Micro Lens Array (MLA) tech to improve the brightness of the OLED panel. This means that the costliest variant might not be the best choice if you want to pick up the LG G4 OLED TV.

That said, the LG C4 is also extremely bright, and LG says that while the C4 misses out on MLA tech, it is still one of the brightest OLED panels, especially when you consider its price range.

The LG C4 has a new Alpha A7 processor, an improved version of the A7 chipset in last year’s LG C3. Like the G4, the C4 also has many AI-powered features to improve audio, image, brightness, and overall experience.

The C4 and G4 are also ideal for PC and console gamers as they sport a 144Hz refresh rate, are AMD Freesync and Nvidia G-Sync certified, and come with LG’s Game Optimizer menu. The TVs run on LG’s webOS 24 and come with five years of free software updates promised by the company.

LG G4 vs C4: Which one should you buy?

LG G4 OLED TV

Out of the two TVs, the LG G4 seems to be a massive upgrade over its predecessor. With all the new features and specs, the gap between the LG G4 and C4 has only widened this year.

However, both the TVs are targeted at different audiences. While the C4 looks at entry-level OLED users, the LG G4 is way more premium and is ideal for users who prefer experience over price.

This brings us to the most important question – Which one should you buy? The LG G4 or LG C4? The answer, thanks to the gap in price and features, is straightforward. If you have space for a large TV and budget is not a concern, then LG G4 OLED is the TV to pick.

The LG C4 is ideal for price-conscious first-time OLED users who want to upgrade from a regular smart TV to an OLED TV. The difference in user interface and response time from the processor might be insignificant to an average user. However, you’ll be able to experience deep blacks and punchy colors exclusive to OLED panels and enjoy almost similar features without paying a fortune.
