A mom has taken to TikTok with claims that the school principal used Face ID to access her son’s phone without permission to investigate an incident.

Whether your phone of choice is an iPhone or Android, there are a few different options available to help keep others from accessing your device.

There are pin codes of varying lengths, the option to draw a shape each time, and Face ID, which scans your eyes with the front-facing camera.

A mom has taken to TikTok with claims that the school principal used Face ID to access her son’s phone without permission, leaving viewers shocked.

School principal allegedly uses Face ID to access student phone

In a now viral clip on February 28, 2024, TikToker Amanda J took to her platform to ask her followers’ opinion on a situation she says happened with her son at school.

“If the principal took your child’s phone and held it to his face to unlock it, and then went through it… how would you feel?” she asked.

Amanda went on to explain that her son was brought into the office because he reportedly had footage of a fight, and said he wanted to call his mom when the principal asked to see the video. Instead, he allegedly took the phone and held it up to the boy’s face to unlock it.

The mom says that once he had access, the principal went through his photo album until he found the video.

Viewers quickly took to the comments to share their thoughts, with many agreeing that it wasn’t okay.

“Cop here, we can’t even do that. Need a warrant. Get a lawyer,” one user replied.

Another commented: “As a principal, that is 100% unacceptable.”

“Absolutely no. As a teacher, an administrator’s wife, AND a mama this would NOT fly,” a third user commented.

Back in October 2023, an English school hired an AI chatbot as their principal to help make decisions.
