Disney Plus upcoming releases: New TV shows and movies streaming in June 2024

Looking for something to watch and want to get the most out of your Disney Plus subscription? Here are all the new TV shows and movies dropping on the platform this month, plus a look at upcoming releases for the rest of 2024.

With so many streaming services to choose from, it says a lot that Disney Plus is arguably the best one out there right now.

The House of Mouse always has new movies in the pipeline, and once those releases are done in theaters, they now have their own dedicated platform to call home.

Disney is more than just the producer of the best animated movies these days, though. With all kinds of content dropping on the streaming service it can be hard to keep up. So, what’s new on Disney Plus this month, and what upcoming releases are heading to Disney Plus in the future?

The best Disney Plus releases this month

The big highlight among the Disney Plus releases in June 2024 is the arrival of The Acolyte. The Star Wars series has a two-episode premiere on June 4.

There’ll be five episodes coming throughout June, with a further three to drop in July. There are lots of new Jedi in The Acolyte to get acquainted with, as the Star Wars timeline expands once more.

We’re also excited to see more Doctor Who episodes as the latest season draws to a close in June. So, get your best theories at the ready, and see how Ncuti Gatwa’s chapter wraps up.

New TV shows on Disney Plus this month

It’s a fairly quiet month aside from new Star Wars and Doctor Who, but another one to watch is The Bear Season 3, which drops at the end of the month.

We can’t wait to get back in the kitchen for The Bear Season 3, to see what Carmy and the gang are cooking up next: probably a healthy dose of anxiety, shouting, and chaos, but we love it.

New movies on Disney Plus this month

There’s not a great deal going on in terms of movies when it comes to upcoming Disney Plus releases this month, but you can watch the classic Beaches if you fancy a good cry.

Disney Plus upcoming releases for the rest of 2024

Looking further ahead, we’ve now got our sights set on the Marvel series, Agatha All Along.

The Agatha release date is due for September, and will offer us more insight into the witchcraft and supernatural elements of the MCU. Speaking of, we could see Deadpool & Wolverine land on the service by the end of the year, too.

What’s good on Disney Plus for kids?

Disney Plus obviously has all the Disney and Pixar movies to watch at any time, but when it comes to new content this month, kids are going to love ZOMBIES: The Re-Animated Series.

Don’t worry, it might sound scary, but the ZOMBIES franchise is full of musical numbers, cheesy dance moves, and high school drama that’s suitable for toddlers and up.

As for existing content on the service, you have got to get your kids watching Spidey and His Amazing Friends. It’s a great way to introduce the little ones to the world of superheroes, with great animation, fun characters, and a brilliant theme song from Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump, too.
