Daniel Radcliffe has been tapped to be the executive producer of a documentary about his Harry Potter stuntman.

The Harry Potter franchise is known for many things: extensive world-building, unforgettable characters, and larger than life action.

And, to make that action come to life, a lot of stunt people were hired by the franchise in order to finish all eight movies.

And now a documentary is set to premiere soon that documents the life and life-changing injuries of one of the stunt people, David Holmes, who worked closely with Daniel Radcliffe aka Harry Potter himself.

Radcliffe produces documentary of his stuntman’s life

Max, the new home of the Harry Potter movies, is set to premiere a documentary titled David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived, which will chronicle the life of David Holmes, a gymnast who eventually became Daniel Radcliffe’s stuntman.

The pair worked closely together, from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone up until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. It was while shooting Deathly Hallows that Holmes broke his neck performing a stunt and was paralyzed from the chest down.

The film is set to showcase Holmes’ life as a gymnast from Essex, England and how his “extraordinary spirit of resilience” gives his family, friends, and stunt peers a lot of inspiration.

Along with executive producing, Radcliffe is also prominently featured in the documentary as an interview subject as he worked side by side with Holmes for almost a decade.

According to Max, the documentary features “candid personal footage shot over the last decade, behind-the-scenes material from Holmes’ stunt work, scenes of his current life and intimate interviews with David, Daniel Radcliffe, friends, family, and former crew.”

“The film also reflects universal themes of living with adversity, growing up, forging identities in an uncertain world, and the bonds that bind us together and lift us up.”
