Rhea Ripley retained her Women’s World Championship in front of her home country of Australia

In her latest Women’s World Championship defense at the Elimination Chamber, Rhea Ripley put on a show for her home country of Australia.

Rhea Ripley has held the strap since defeating Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania 39 last year. Her reign has been nothing short of dominant, with “Mami” rarely breaking a sweat in the ring.

Ripley’s latest challenger, Nia Jax, differs from any other foe. Jax is a physically imposing threat with unprecedented size and power in the women’s division.

Heading into the Elimination Chamber, the WWE Universe predicted that Ripley would retain. The fans were correct, but it didn’t come easy for the champion.

Jax was all over Ripley from the opening bell, landing her finisher multiple times and even putting “Mami” through the announcers’ table.

Thanks to some help from the packed Australian crowd, Ripley mounted a comeback, ultimately superplexing Jax off the top rope before getting the three-count with a Riptide finisher.

The fans burst into a thunderous cheer as a noticeably emotional Ripley soaked up the moment. Members of the WWE Universe watching at home also shared their excitement.

One X user (@SrPerograph) called it the best match of Ripley’s entire title reign.

Simon Miller, a popular WWE YouTuber, said this victory will catapult Ripley into the next level of superstardom.

Another X account (@_PWChronicle) clipped the final moments of the PLE, where Ripley is shown celebrating with her family.

Ripley will now square off against Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania XL for the Women’s World Championship. “The Man” posted a phenomenal performance of her own at the Elimination Chamber and has her sights set on the belt.

Fans believe that Ripley vs. Lynch has the potential to be the best women’s Wrestlemania match in history. The two are at the peak of their powers, and a collision course is set for Philadelphia in April.
