Logan Paul next fight confirmed as undisputed WWE title match vs Cody Rhodes
WWE/YouTubeWWE United States champion Logan Paul will challenge Cody Rhodes for his WWE Universal title at King and Queen of the Ring on May 25 in Saudi Arabia.
The pair came face to face in the ring during Friday night Smackdown in Pennsylvania, when Smackdown general manager Nick Aldis confirmed to Rhodes that Paul would be his next challenger.
After congratulating Rhodes on a successful title defense against AJ Styles at Backlash, Aldis confirmed to the undisputed champion that his next fight had already been set.
Paul’s entrance music then sounded, much to the delight of the sold out crowd in the Mohegan Sun Arena, before the duo traded verbal insults to each other.
‘The Maverick’ promised to beat Rhodes to usher in the ‘Levesque-Paul era’ in the WWE, while Rhodes declared his aim to complete the WWE Grand Slam by winning Paul’s US title.
Paul is currently the longest reigning champion in the WWE, and it would cap a meteoric rise for the YouTube star in wrestling if he was to become the Universal champion.
While it hasn’t been officially confirmed that both men’s titles will be on the line, Rhodes took to X after the show to reiterate his ambition to hold both belts, simply tweeting: “2 belts.”
The King and Queen of the Ring card is now stacking up, with Becky Lynch defending her women’s world title against Liv Morgan and Sami Zayn defending his WWE Intercontinental title against Chad Gable and Bronson Reed.
The card will also include the final of both the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments, with the quarter-finals matchups of both competitions almost finalized.
