Demon Slayer: How did Muzan become a demon?
CrunchyrollWe all know Muzan is the biggest threat to the Hashiras in Demon Slayer, but do you know how he became the first demon? Let’s find out.
Demon Slayer has become one of the most prominent animanga franchises – thanks to the heartwarming narrative and Ufotable’s brilliant animation. It is also an anime show that can make you feel bad even for the deadliest demons because of their tragic pasts.
The story of Demon Slayer is set in the 20th century, and Muzan is often seen in flashbacks from the past, making it clear that the demon lord has been around for many centuries. He is someone who can make the potent demons tremble in fear in front of him.
However, he wasn’t a demon since the start; in fact, he was once a helpless man who was about to die due to an incurable disease before getting the demonic transformation.
How does Muzan become the first demon?
Demon Slayer manga Chapter 127 revealed that Muzan was once a human who was diagnosed with an illness that would kill him at a very young age. However, Muzan wasn’t ready to surrender in front of death, so he decided to see a person who would help him live several more years. He knew that no medicine would work on him, so he asked the physician to experiment. Muzan just wanted to survive his fate no matter how twisted the path would be; he was also ready to let go of his humanity.
Muzan’s physician tried to treat him with a medicine made of a mysterious flower, Blue Spider Lily. However, the experiment failed, so the human Muzan killed his own physician. After the tragic incident, Muzan underwent a horrifying transformation that eventually made him an immortal being.
Even though Muzan became a robust demon who would never have the fear of dying as he used to in his human life, he found himself to be non-resistant from the sun. Despite having numerous perks, the demon lord also learned about his weakness which would restrict him from roaming outside in the daytime. However, after learning that Nezuko is sun-resistant, he wants to ingest the girl so he can overcome his only weakness.
Well, that part will get adapted in Demon Slayer Season 4, so let’s keep our fingers crossed and see how Tanjiro will save his sister from Muzan. Be sure to check out our list of the best anime like Demon Slayer for more shows to check out!
