Dragon Ball Z has finally become available to stream in the UK, after years of fans wondering when the beloved anime would be watchable.

For many of a certain vintage, Dragon Ball Z was the anime show that got them into the medium. In the late ’90s, Cartoon Network began airing the series, and we quickly became obsessed by Goku and the Fighters, and their endless battles to protect Earth from harm. That starts with the Saiyans Nappa and Vegeta, but then it becomes Frieza, and Cell, and Buu, and a host of other great warriors.

Goku, Piccolo, Gohan, Krillin, and their pals see them off every time. For a long time, you couldn’t get the show on streaming with the UK for one reason or another, but now you can, and it’s all on one service.

Dragon Ball Z is now streaming on Crunchyroll in the UK

Crunchyroll has made Dragon Ball Z available for all subscribers in the UK and Ireland as today, Friday, March 1, 2024. This marks the first time the legendary, hugely influential Shonen anime can be streamed for British fans ever.

All 291 episodes are available, taking you through every Dragon Ball Z saga, right from Goku and Piccolo facing Raditz up to the Z Fighters facing Buu. I won’t lie, this means you’re getting all the filler as well as the good stuff, like the Garlic Jnr saga. But that’s all part of what makes the show great, because you get comedy and low stakes as well as all the Earth-shattering battles.

As with any long-awaited arrival to an easily usable streaming platform, the most likely reason it took this long was rights issues. Sometimes even the most popular franchises can be caught up in beauracracy that disallows them from reaching the widest audience possible. Thankfully, for fans in Britain, watching the show is now just a Crunchyroll subscription away.
