Haikyu!! movie trailer

The Haikyu!! movie has jumped to the top of our most anticipated films list after the inceredible reception in Japan, and an English sub and dub just got one step closer.

So far, Haikyu!! the Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump has accrued multiple box office records, and the anime movie seems to be just getting started. The first of a two-part conclusion to the anime, the film arrives four years after the last episode of the show, and it seems fans were eagerly waiting.

The sports anime follows two volleyball players, Hinata and Tobio, as they prepare for the biggest tournament in the high school’s history. That competition is covered in the film, after four seasons of anticipation, and we finally have a hint of when international fans can see the picture.

Haikyu!! subbed screenings start this month in Japan

It’s been announced that subbed versions of Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle will begin showing in Japan on March 15. The news comes with a new trailer focused on the rivals, Nekoma High School, allowing us to revel in the drama a bit more.

Though a touch disappointing, this suggests Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle might be coming to a global audience sooner rather than latter. The film has now been translated and subtitled, so it’s just a matter of figuring out when the international release should start.

Typically, these films move onto other markets after the Japanese returns have peaked. So far, Haikyu!! is holding strong in the Japanese box office, continually making bank week after week. If I’d to guess, I’d say we’ll see a release some time during the summer, but that’s just speculation.

At least we have the new trailer to watch, and if you’re in Japan, you can enjoy the subtitled version at your leisure! Check out our list of the best anime shows for more great choices in the meantime.
