Is Kenjaku’s death confirmed in Jujutsu Kaisen?
In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 243, Takaba dies after creating a distraction for Kenjaku, allowing Yuta to strike the villain. Yuta instantly goes for the kill and severs Kenjaku’s head. Kenjaku only senses Yuta’s presence after his head is separated from his body. Before the chapter ends, Kenjaku says his “will” is going to be inherited.
In the next chapter, the POV again shifts to the battle against the strongest, where Yuji and Higuruma challenge the King of Curses. After a series of intense moments, Yuta arrives in Chapter 248. However, according to Jujutsu Kaisen spoilers, Chapter 249 will reveal what happened after Yuta severed Kenjaku’s head.
In a brief flashback, we learn that the curses have gone out of control, and Yuta lets Rika deal with them. However, Kenjaku is still alive, and his severed head flies in the air. Kenjaku’s plan to merge humans and Master Tengen now relies on Megumi, as the villain changes the rules of the Culling Game using Kogane.
Kenjaku reveals he already has a backup plan before Yuta slashes his head again, likely killing him this time. Yuta brutally cuts his face, not giving the villain a chance to continue talking. Unlike the others, Yuta has a personal score to settle with Kenjaku.
Yuta has always blamed himself for not killing Geto at that time, which forced Gojo to kill his best friend. After Kenjaku possessed Geto’s body, Gojo swore to let his friend rest in peace by killing the villain. However, because Yuta doesn’t want Gojo to kill his best friend again, he wants to do the job for him.
Now that Gojo’s dead, Yuta’s conviction to set Gojo’s friend is stronger than ever. In the upcoming chapter, he blames himself for leaving others to fend off against Sukuna but also admits he wanted to be the one to kill Kenjaku.
