Jujutsu Kaisen editor sparks hope for Gojo’s return
CrunchyrollJujutsu Kaisen fans are now more convinced than ever that Gojo will return – and it’s all thanks to the editor’s latest interview. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s beloved Satoru Gojo has always been among the most popular anime characters. Although he had a massive fandom before, his popularity skyrocketed in 2023 with the second season of the anime and the battle of the strongest in the manga.
Sadly, after getting sealed in the Shibuya Incident arc, Gojo disappeared from the main story. Gojo finally returned after more than three years, only to die at Sukuna’s hands soon after. Although the battle of the strongest was the most highly anticipated fight of the series, it didn’t have an ending anyone wanted.
Fans have been unable to accept his death ever since and are always coming up with theories to justify his likely return. It just so happens that Jujutsu Kaisen editor Junya Fukuda’s interview has given them new hope to wish for Gojo’s return. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Jujutsu Kaisen editor’s latest interview has convinced fans of Gojo’s return
In a recent interview, the hosts arrived at Jujutsu Kaisen editor Junya Fukuda’s workplace when he was editing the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Fukuda said he was checking the drafts of Chapter 249. The computer screen was blurred in the broadcast, but it’s still sparking several theories about Gojo’s return.
The reason is that despite being blurred, the screen shows a face with dark eyes, which is oddly familiar to Gojo fans. After seeing the screen, the host was shocked and even said, “That’s why I’ve never seen this scene before.” He continued, “It’s an extraordinary scene. But I still can’t take my eyes off it.”
The fact that even the editor called it shocking means that fans are in for a major plot twist. After all, the series is in a crucial phase right now. Gojo fans are again manifesting his return, though it’s unclear if it will happen. The blurred image has gone viral on X/Twitter, and everyone is talking about the same possibility.
Apart from the shocking scene, Fukuda also revealed that he knows how the series will end. Gege Akutami has already told him, and Fukuda not only approved it but is even looking forward to it. Here’s a look at how Gojo fans are reacting to this viral image from Junya Fukuda’s latest interview:
Despite everyone’s hope for Gojo’s return to Jujutsu Kaisen, one fan pointed out a key detail: “Up, this looks like Teen Gojo. Mangaka are usually a few weeks ahead of the release schedule, so I guess this is in 2-3 chapters. Seeing a Gojo flashback makes Megumi’s return more likely for me. I think in JJK 248, Sukuna will split his soul to survive ES, and that’ll free Megumi.”
