Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Akutami addresses major error in Yuta’s design
CrunchyrollJujutsu Kaisen’s fan-favorite character, Yuta, has a major error in his design, and surprisingly enough, creator Gege Akutami has brought this issue to light.
Jujutsu Kaisen is currently featuring the battle against the strongest as Yuta and Yuji join hands against the villain. Both are Gojo’s precious students, as he had high hopes for them. Considering their brilliant feat against the King of Curses, Gojo’s confidence in his students wasn’t unfounded as the duo managed to corner Sukuna.
However, while they did put up a good fight against Sukuna, last week’s chapter confirms that they lost the first round. Maki joins the battle, while Yuji and Yuta are seriously injured. Nonetheless, they’re still alive, so there’s a chance they’d bounce back in some time.
However, what’s more surprising about the ongoing fight is that there’s a significant error in Yuta’s design in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 249. Mangaka Gege Akutami addressed this issue in his recent message. Delve deeper to find out more.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 249 features major error in Yuta’s design
In the recent Mangaka Musings shared by Viz, Gege Akutami said: “Why does Okottsu have a ring on his middle finger? Who drew this? Sigh…”
This comment is from Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 12. Every week, the magazine includes several manga chapters and the author’s comments along with it. Viz shares Mangaka Musings, where the creators share their thoughts about their series, anime, or anything else.
Of course, Gege Akutami is trolling fans by asking about the identity of the person who drew the ring on Yuta’s finger. The error isn’t only evident in this panel, but another scene didn’t even feature Yuta’s ring at all. Yuta always wears his ring on his ring finger as a momento of his childhood love, Rika Orimoto, who died in a car accident.
After joining the Jujutsu Tech High School in Tokyo, he started using this ring to call on the special-grade apparition, Rika. Even after Rika’s soul passed on, the “vessel” Rika stayed with him even after that. For Yuta, the ring not only reminds him of his tie with Rika but also learns to channel his power using the bond between them.
During the initial phase of Yuta’s training, Gojo took him to the cursed tool vault and handed him a katana. The idea was for Yuta to learn to fight as well as channel cursed energy into an object, and Yuta chose the ring as a medium.
