One Piece fans think there’s someone closer to Imu than Gorosei
Eiichiro Oda/Toei AnimationWhile One Piece has long established the fact that Imu’s identity is a secret to everyone but the Gorosei, fans have noticed one person having a closer relationship with him.
In One Piece, Imu is a mysterious person who sits on the Empty Throne at Mary Geoise and acts as the sole ruler of the world. Despite his position, nobody – except the Gorosei – knows about his existence.
However, another person knows about Imu and has closer interactions with him than anyone else. This person is his maid or servant. The underling has always been portrayed as a silhouette, just like their master. Thus, we don’t know their identity or gender yet.
The person can be seen with Imu in the Room of Flowers. This makes them quite unique as they’re the only person to do so; even the Gorosei aren’t allowed inside the shadow ruler’s personal domain.
As a result, this person must know a lot of secrets others are unaware of. For example, they know about Lily’s portrait in the room and how terribly Joyboy’s Haki has affected Imu.
In Chapter 1122, they can be seen shouting for their master in worry as Imu falls to his knees after Emeth unleashes Joyboy’s Haki on Egghead Island. This scene has sparked a lot of questions about this person and why they’re so close with Imu.
“Don’t see many people discussing this servant. They’re the only one who’s always been by his side at all times and one of the only people that Imu’s shown vulnerability to. They may have a closer relationship than we realize,” posted one fan on X.
Another commented: “Even the Gorosei don’t get this close to Imu from what we’ve seen.”
“Think it’s their wife, it’s the only way I’d imagine Imu let someone be that close to them and they seem dressed similarly even though we only have silhouettes,” speculated a third.
“I’ve been asking this question since Chapter 908,” added a fourth.
The mystery of the servant will hopefully be solved once Imu’s true identity is revealed. Until then, check out the series’ most heartwarming friendship and the climax of the Egghead Arc.
