Jujutsu Kaisen has never produced a bad or boring episode. Every episode offers thrilling plot twists and wild fights, and some even feature tragic and heartwarming moments. Whether it’s the animation, soundtrack, storytelling, or even the pacing, the Jujutsu sorcerers have conjured more magic in two seasons than many series offer in twice that or more. Here’s our list of the top 10 best Jujutsu Kaisen episodes.

Naobito, Nanami, Megumi, and Maki are no match against the special-grade curse, Dagon. Megumi clears an escape route from Dagon’s Domain, but suddenly, Toji enters inside. What follows after is one of the most epic fights in the series, as Toji easily destroys the powerful curse.

He then takes Megumi away to fight him. Additionally, the episode also features Jogo feeding 10 Sukuna fingers to Yuji, after which the King of Curses takes over the body. He is now ready to wreak havoc in Shibuya and make the situation even worse for the sorcerers.

9. Season 1 Episode 24 – Accomplices

Yuji and Nobara from Jujutsu Kaisen

The final episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 doesn’t disappoint with the intense fight against the Death Paintings. Nobara gets her time to shine as she teams up with Yuji to defeat Eso and Kechizu. While she uses her Resonance to counterattack Eso’s Rot Technique, Yuji rushes forward to punch him.

For the final attack, they simultaneously use Black Flash, making it the first time Nobara uses this technique. After they meet with Megumi, who defeated the curse of Yasohachi Bridge, the trio return to their usual lives. They shop together, and Nobara makes Yuji carry all her bags. However, there are more things to come, as Aoi and Mei Mei recommend Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, Panda, and Maki for promotion to Grade 1.

8. Season 1 Episode 7 – Assault

Ever since his introduction, Gojo has been recognized as the strongest sorcerer alive. However, it isn’t until Episode 7 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 that we finally find out just what that title means. As someone who stands at the pinnacle of the Jujutsu world, Gojo is untouchable – literally. During his fight with Jogo, Gojo reveals Infinity doesn’t allow his enemies even to touch him.

And if that isn’t thrilling enough, Jogo opens up his Domain, but the sorcerer easily counterattacks with his own Domain. Gojo does all that while teaching Yuji about certain techniques and, of course, Domain Expansion. The episode has just the right amount of thrill and comedy to keep you hooked on the series.

7. Season 2 Episode 18 – Right and Wrong

Jujutsu Kaisen Nanami's anime-only scene

Let’s face it, Nanami’s death has to be the most emotional thing Jujutsu Kaisen fans witnessed in the entire anime. And it’s all thanks to Shota Goshozono, who directed Season 2 Episode 18 and also provided the storyboard, recreating Nanami’s death scene in the most beautiful and emotional way possible.

The anime-only scenes feature Nanami smiling and living his dream life in Malaysia. He is finally free, but that’s only a pleasant dream. The scene goes on forever, with continuous transitions between dreams and reality. The juxtaposition only reminds us of the brutal fate awaiting him. Nanami dies in front of Yuji, who is already suffering a breakdown from the destruction of Shibuya. The rest of the episode focuses on Yuji’s fight with Mahito.

The Yuji vs Choso episode took the internet by storm as Jujutsu Kaisen fans enjoyed the intriguing fight between siblings. With some extended scenes, the episode features fight sequences like Yuji biting Choso or doing a headbutt. Either way, the fight is intense, and Yuji, being as strong as he is, still isn’t a match for Choso.

Choso is out for blood since he wants to avenge Eso and Kechizu’s death. As expected, Yuji loses the fight, but Choso sees a vision just before killing Yuji. He runs away from there after being unable to accept the fact that Yuji is his brother and that he’s envisioning his brother’s demise.

5. Season 1 Episode 20 – Nonstandard

Jujutsu Kaisen always ensures that any episode where Gojo uses his powers has to be jaw-dropping. Nonstandard is the episode where Gojo stops the fight against Hanami using a devastating technique, Hollow Purple, for the first time. Hanami barely escapes the long-range attack, but Gojo saves the students from the curse.

Even before Gojo’s arrival, the episode features Yuji and Aoi going toe-to-toe against Hanami. Yuji and Aoi are unquestionably the best duo in the series. Their first fight together helps Yuji improve by leaps and bounds.

He is then astounded to see Gojo alive in front of him.

Gojo has gone delirious after overusing both his Six Eyes and Limitless. On top of that, he used Reverse Cursed Technique, an extremely complex ability, for the first time. In this episode, Gojo delivers his iconic quote, “Throughout heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one,” after realizing the true extent of his powers. He finishes Toji off with his first-ever Hollow Purple.

3. Season 2 Episode 21 – Transformation

Jujutsu Kaisen Yuji

Nothing can be more satisfying than watching the most hated character of the series get defeated by the hero. Even though Sukuna and Kenjaku are more important villains in the series, the amount of hatred Mahito gets matches no one else. After all, he has killed several fan-favorite characters. However, defeating Mahito wasn’t an easy feat for Aoi and Yuji.

Aoi loses his hand in the process but still tricks Mahito so that Yuji can attack the villain. Yuji uses all his remaining strength to land a devastating punch with Black Flash. Yuji also delivers his iconic “I’m you” speech. Mahito runs away after losing his true form while Yuji is chasing the villain. The scene where Yuji is chasing Mahito is symbolized by a wolf chasing its prey rabbit.

2. Season 2 Episode 17 – Thunderclap Part 2

Jujutsu Kaisen Sukuna Domain Expansion

The clash between two monsters, Sukuna and Mahoraga, can only ever produce devastating results. And this is what happens in this Jujutsu Kaisen as Sukuna destroys a large part of the Shibuya ward, killing thousands in the process. It all starts with Megumi summoning Mahoraga and forcing Haruta to participate in the Exorcism Ritual.

Failing to kill Mahoraga means Megumi and Haruta will die, which is exactly what Megumi is planning. However, Sukuna has some plans regarding the young sorcerer, so he saves Megumi by defeating Mahoraga. After the fight is over, Yuji takes over his body, and the devastation breaks him down completely.
