Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Rendezvous event: Duos, rewards, 2XP, more

Respawn Entertainment have released the first event for Apex Legends Season 4 – Valentine’s Day Rendezvous, which features the return of the fan-favorite Duos mode as well a reward and some new cosmetic items.

With Valentine’s Day just a few days away, Respawn are kicking off the recently-launched Season 4 of Apex Legends with a new in-game event called Valentine’s Day Rendezvous.

While not as massive as some of the events that have featured in the past, there’s still definitely some intrigue to it since it includes the popular Duos mode in which players can enjoy the game in pairs rather than be forced to play in trios.

The event was originally scheduled to launch on February 11 but Respawn announced later that day that it had been postponed after the accompanying update was not showing up for most players. Instead, it will start on February 12 until February 18, although there is a chance it could be extended an extra day due to the delay.

Throughout that time there will be a special ‘Double Up’ XP boost active that gives everyone who squads up with a friend twice the XP, up to 20,000 per day.

In addition, everyone who logs on at any point during those days will receive a Valentines 2020 badge, and be able to purchase special cosmetic items that are otherwise not available throughout the year.

Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Rendezvous items

There will be four Valentine’s-themed cosmetic items up for sale in the in-game store during this event. Two are brand new – Pathfinder and Nessie weapon charms – while the other two are returning from last year’s event – a Longbow DMR camo and Pathfinder banner.

The ‘Love Struck’ Nessie weapon charm costs 500 coins and the ‘Through the Heart’ Longbow DMR camo 800 coins – both available from February 11-14.

The other two items – the ‘Lovefinder’ Pathfinder charm and ‘Love of the Game’ banner – will cost 700 and 800 coins respectively. Players will be able to purchase these items from February 15-18.

The Longbow camo and Pathfinder banner have been discounted since they’re both returning items from last year’s event.
