Apex Legends Season Three has been out in the wild for a few weeks now and dedicated players are continuing to uncover more and more bugs.

Released on October 1, the third season of Respawn Entertainment’s Battle Royale title introduced a wide array of content from the brand new map World’s Edge, to the latest Legend Crypto.

With a slew of new content often comes an abundance of fresh bugs. Thus far the community has been treated to bizzarre revive bugs, terrain issues, and even a complication when simply trying to pick up loot. Fortunately, developers have typically been quick to mitigate certain issues however a new Gibraltar bug has been discovered and it could lead to your next loss.

In an October 23 post, Reddit user ‘roccscout’ provided a thorough breakdown of the recently discovered Gibraltar bug. The primary concern stems from his Gun Shield ability which has become somewhat faulty since the latest update.

Throughout the video, the player showcased how the recharge function of the weapon shield would appear inaccurate.

Upon activating the shield in the demonstration, it is immediately destroyed by an enemy player wielding the controversial charge rifle. Quickly swapping weapons, it is soon highlighted how despite being in a cooldown state, aiming down sights can still display a brand new shield on the secondary weapon.

Traditionally, the mechanic is supposed to be inactive for a short period of time upon being destroyed. While the shield itself only makes up 75 hit points worth of protection, the lengthy regeneration period can be sped up through the use of Shield Cells or Shield Batteries.

As exemplified in the video, this bug can cause dramatic complications in the middle of gunfights. Players unaware of the issue would be led to believe that their shield is active when in fact, the ability is only being rendered on their screen alone.

The mechanic can lead to some aggressive playstyles as the added protection enables players to push up on the opposition. Yet until this error is resolved, the Gun Shield might cause you to be out of position with no support whatsoever.

If you’re a Gibraltar-main be sure to keep this complication in mind throughout your next few matches. If your secondary weapon displays a Gun Shield, just be prepared to dodge enemy fire instead.

Recently the developers patched out a multitude of bugs plaguing the competitive shooter so this Season Three issue shouldn’t remain in the game for much longer.
