Glitched “hole” in Apex Legends lets players get under World’s Edge map
EAA pair of Apex Legends players have discovered a serious glitch that allows access to the underbelly of the World’s Edge map.
We’ve seen players find ways to get underneath the map in Apex Legends before, but it usually hasn’t been as simple as jumping into actual openings in the ground.
One player and their friend came across an entrance to the bottom of the map near the Thermal Station, and it appears to be available to anyone without the need to exploit anything.
The two climbed behind a few rocks and looked down at a deep hole underground. They decided to dive in to see where it took them, and to their surprise, it led the players to an area beneath the entire map.
Fortunately for the other competitors, their time down there was short-lived, as after a short period of exploration, they eventually were killed by the game.
They didn’t get a chance to look up and shoot other players in their clip, so it’s tough to know if you could actually deal any real damage from this spot. Of course, it could end up being a strategic area to get into if the circle ever manages to close there.
Players under the map have a much easier time traversing harsh terrain, mainly because there aren’t many structures to block players in the “upside down,” so they might be able to find a safe spot and camp it out for an easy victory.
This glitch does have the potential to become a major problem down the road if it ends up being abused. For the time being at least, there doesn’t appear to be much of a reason to go down the veritable rabbit hole, outside of merely checking it out once or twice.
If players can figure out how to survive for a long time underneath the map while walking around, then there might be some issues the developers must consider.
From the looks of things, all it’ll take is a few more rocks to cover up this mysterious hole, so it might be worth keeping an eye on this spot to see if Respawn decide to fix it without telling anyone first.
With Season 4 presumably just around the corner, this could end up being one of the changes that come with that patch.
