Revenant Death Totem bug sends players to Apex Legends “hell”

A damning bug in Apex Legends has sent a player under the guise of the Death Totem sinking to a nightmarish hellscape, and it looks pretty awesome.

Several previous bugs in the popular battle royale game have sent players underneath the map, both on Kings Canyon and in World’s Edge. But, a combination of the effects from Revenant’s resurrection ultimate and the molten landscape near Thermal Station created a jarring scene ripped from Dante Alighieri’s Inferno.

Community members point to a known bug that has to do with the moving train that the player was on and being displaced backward by the ultimate’s respawn.

Revenant’s ultimate brings back a player shortly after being eliminated.

In the clip posted by ‘cltyreemu1,’ Revenant can be seen taking on the ultimate’s effect before heading into action against another team on the train.

“Glad to see they still haven’t patched this.. Smh,” Reddit user ‘JayG941’ said of the bug. “Happens when you put a totem on a moving train.”

Running straight into a 2v1 situation with the Death Totem’s half-health and no armor, they were in for a quick revival shortly after making their presence known.

Just as the last tick of health ran dry, their minimap showed they had flung to a place outside the perimeter of the ring. A place void of any landmarks, sans the cliffs of brimstone amid an ocean of fire.

However, Cltyreemu1 seemed fine with it: “The totem yeeted me straight to hell.”

After bugging out of the surface of the map, they even went under “hell”. They just kept falling, and looking back at their fallen teammate’s locator revealed they were over 1300m away.

The Death Totem on a moving train could be a bad mix.

More players reported a similar situation where the totem “yeeted me 1k away from the train I placed it on. Such a trip!”

There’s almost no ultimate ability in Apex that goes well with the moving train on World’s Edge. While Revenant’s Death Totem sounds ideal on the moving platform, it can obviously backfire at a moment’s notice.

If the bug keeps cropping up through more games, it could be something the Apex Legends developers put on their list of issues to address for a future update.
