The original story can be read below:

The Apex Legends Global Series first Major of 2020 is just around the corner, with the aptly named “Major 1” kicking things off in Arlington, Texas.

Major 1 is the first of four Major tournaments Apex will hold for its 2020-21 Global Series, which EA announced back in December of 2019.

Close to 100 Apex esports teams will be competing for their share of the $500,000 prize pool and most importantly of all, bragging rights as the best Apex Legends squad around, at least until the next one.

When is Apex Legend’s Major 1?

Apex teams will descend on Esports Stadium Arlington in Texas to battle it out in front of fans starting with the Opening Stage on March 13 with all teams competing.

To start there will be 100 total teams competing in the tournament, 20 from regional qualifiers and up to 80 in the open stages.

After the Open Stage, there will be 60 total teams, 20 from regional qualifiers and 40 from the open stages, competing in the Winner’s bracket from March 13-14 and the Loser’s from March 13-15, with the Grand Final wrapping things up on March 15 as well.

The top four finishing teams will also earn an automatic seed for ALGS Major 2.

Who is attending ALGS Major 1?

There are 100 total team spots available at the ALGS Major 1, but only 20 will automatically qualify for the Playoff round after placing high enough in their various Regional Qualifiers.
