Who is the girl in Apex Legends Season 4 trailer? Clues suggest Rosie
Respawn EntertainmentThe launch trailer for Apex Legends Season 4 gave a closer look at Revenant while teasing what could be the next character in the battle royale – Rosie, also known as Loba.
Respawn Entertainment loves embedding deep and rich lore into every facet of their popular shooter. From the maps, Legends, weapons, and more, everything has its place in the larger scheme of the Apex Games.
Though leaks have given players a look into a host of possible characters to come, the January 30 launch trailer for the new season offered more clues about a long-rumored Legend that could finally be on her way to the Outlands.
In the final moments of Respawn’s new cinematic, players are left with a lasting image of a young girl kneeling in a pool of blood left by the lifeless body of her father.
Since we know his assassin, Revenant, is coming into the Apex Games in Season 4, the young girl might not trail far behind the murderous Simulacrum.
New clues suggest the young girl could indeed be Rosie, and will soon enter the Apex Games, possibly under the moniker of Loba, we’re not sure yet what her official name will be.
Before Revenant accepted his target, we get a full view of the little girl’s father, Marcos Andrade. The target dossier on him revealed he and his wife were expert thieves who also speak Portuguese.
Later on, when the assassination takes place, one of his last living acts was to give her a small statue of a silver wolf, which can be translated to the feminine noun ‘loba’ in Portuguese, the language that the family can be heard speaking.
We now have our first major connection between the girl and the unreleased Legend. Seeing as how the name Loba has been heavily connected with the character, the fact that Respawn chose to include a wolf figurine in the trailer could serve as major foreshadowing
Moreover, if the young girl is Rosie, she would have quite literally been raised by thieves, since we know her parents used to run a “Bonnie-and-Clyde operation” on Talos.
This is crucial for understanding her supposed set of abilities, leaked by prominent Apex dataminer ‘That1MingingGuy,’ that was tied to Rosie/Loba which include “Burglar’s Best Friend,” “Supply for Demand,” “Black Market Boutique,” and “Eye for Quality,” all of which are thievery-themed.
While her development could easily see these abilities changed upon release, it seems Respawn planned this character to have close ties with a thieving underworld that we know is well-established given the background of her mother and father.
Finally, Respawn’s Twitter post on January 29 said that the Season 4 trailer would connect the “recent break-ins at Hammond Robotics facilities and murder of James ‘The Forge’ McCormick with a 25-year unsolved cold case.”
If the murder of Andrade and his wife is the “unsolved cold case” in question, that would put the young daughter in her early 30’s at the present day – a fitting age to be a contestant in the famed bloodsport of the Outlands.
While the next new Legend introduced in the battle royale will be Revenant, there’s enough reason to believe that Rosie, or Loba, could be in line to be released in Season 5.
