Baldur’s Gate 3 players have opened up a discussion about what they think constitutes the coolest class and subclass combinations.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s class system provides players with the tools to create hybrid builds that can engender creative results. The title launched with 12 classes in total, each one featuring its own set of subclasses that opens the door to a wide array of variations.

For example, some may consider Battle Master the most formidable of the Fighter’s three subclass options. And the Draconic Bloodline seems a favorite amongst those who went the Sorcerer route.

It’s been weeks since the game’s full release on PC, so what are Baldur’s Gate 3 players thinking by and large? A popular Reddit thread may offer some insight.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans debate “coolest” class/subclass combos

Having gone down a rabbit hole of best class/subclass guides, BG3 player and Reddit user HuziUzi wanted to know what fellow fans consider the “coolest” combinations.

The Redditor says their personal favorite is the Eagleheart Barbarian. “Forget magic, forget technique, there’s nothing more primal than an angry Barbarian diving at you with an axe from the third floor,” the original poster wrote.

Dozens of other users chimed in with their own favorite builds in response to the question. One person chose the Way of the Four Elements Monk as their combo of choice, mostly because “you get to punch people while your hands are on fire.”

Another player chose The Great Old One subclass for Warlock as their “coolest” Baldur’s Gate 3 build. “I think outer gods in general are hella cool, plus eldritch blast is like my favorite animation in this game,” they reasoned.

A comment about the Oath of the Ancients Paladin received a lot of love in the thread, too. The commenter noted, “Ancients paladin gets all the cool paladin sh** and also gets to be a Charisma-based character who can talk to animals.” If nothing else, it’s clear players are having a blast mixing and matching the class and subclass options.
