While many may consider Baldur’s Gate 3 to be practically perfect, there’s always room for a few quality-of-life changes – and these players have some stellar ideas.

It’s no secret that the highly acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3 is an overwhelming success among its community. Many are constantly praising the game for its lovable companions, emotional story, and variety of available choices you can make as you explore the expansive world.

However, story and characters aside, there are still a few elements that need some work in Baldur’s Gate 3, and players have come together to call for some simple yet impactful quality-of-life changes that need to be added in the next update.

Sharing their idea on Reddit, one user asked players to reveal “the most inconsequential change you would make” to Baldur’s Gate 3.

The poster revealed how they’d love to make it “so locking picking automatically opened the chest you just picked” rather than having to pick the lock, back out of the screen, then click on the chest again to see what’s inside – which can mean some greedy teammates get in there before you do.

While many agreed with the poster, a few ideas struck out on top, with many fans echoing their statements.

One in particular was regarding “a way to rearrange party members without having to go through dialogue every time.” Such an issue has been constantly brought up since the game came out of early access, and many fans wish they could enact this change.

“A prompt when you are about to cast a spell that uses concentration when you are already concentrating” added one user, revealing how frustrating it can be to accidentally cast another concentration spell and lose the original without realizing it. This also applies to beginner players and those unfamiliar with Dungeons & Dragons spellcasting.

Other players who took a shine to Scratch called for more features with him as a companion: “I just want to be able to sleep with Scratch and/or the baby owlbear snuggled next to me.” Another highlighted how they wanted “A tent for Tav and some more cinematics that show camp life before going to bed. (Having a meal together, Lae’zel and Shadowheart sparring, Karlach playing with Scratch and/or Owlbear cub.)”

Ultimately, while fans adore the game, there are always a few QoL alterations Larian can make to further improve Baldur’s Gate 3, especially when it comes to Scratch.
