Baldur’s Gate 3 players have started to make fun of Flaming Fist Marcus’ tadpole powers that simply gave him a pair of wings.

Players who’ve made it to Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3 likely remember the significant encounter with Flaming Fist Marcus at Last Light Inn.

After speaking with Isobel, the player and their party are accosted by Flaming Fist Marcus, who has sold out to the Absolute and was given a pair of jet-black wings as a result.

However, some fans have started making fun of Flaming Fist Marcus on social media after noting that his tadpole powers seem slightly underbaked.

A post on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit gained traction among the community after one fan made a meme thread titled, “Fist Marcus was not a complex man.”

The OP attached a meme image that essentially made fun of Flaming Fist Marcus’ choice of simply getting a large pair of wings from the Absolute, instead of another ability that would make him even more powerful.

Fans in the comments made fun of the decision to gain wings, noting that the ability to fly is already easy to come by in the world of Baldur’s Gate.

“To be fair, wings are cool, but seriously, this is a world where you can just buy potions or scrolls that let you fly with no wings. so f*ck this guy, mind control or not, he should have asked for something better…”

A few fans were curious as to how he actually got his wings, with some pointing to a dead Aasimar that can be found in Act 2. This revelation makes Marcus’ wings a bit darker.

Some players defended his choice of power. “In fairness to him, if you speak with dead on him, he says his squad got captured, implying that the tadpole was unwillingly received. The wing thing is probably some rough tadpole play on power hungriness.”

Regardless, it does seem a bit silly that Marcus asks for the wings, given the power of flight is not something all too hard to come by in Baldur’s Gate 3.
