Baldur’s Gate 3 players love this “underrated” companion dynamic
Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are obsessed with one “underrated” companion dynamic that just seems to work so well, despite the characters clashing at first glance.
Certain personalities usually get along better with people similar to them. For example, an extroverted person will likely get on well with someone equally as outgoing, or a person who enjoys gaming will be able to gel well with people of similar interests.
Such a notion extends to games like Baldur’s Gate 3, with certain NPCs, players, and companions getting along quite badly with those completely different from them. For example, Lae’zel and Shadowheart often fight due to their differing personalities.
However, one friendship is entirely unexpected and just seems to work so well, with many players now praising the “underrated” dynamic between two favorite companions.
“underrated” Baldur’s Gate 3 companion dynamic shocks players
Sharing an unlikely friendship, one fan posted a conversation between Lae’zel and Gale on Reddit, revealing their funny dynamic.
In the conversation, the two companions were discussing fireworks and the rather “short fuses” of gnomes. During the exchange, Lae’zel is seen joking around with Gale, which is pretty unheard of to many Tav’s that haven’t romanced her.
“Love how it’s with Gale that Lae’zel loosens up to that she even cracks a joke” shared the player, revealing just how rare it is to see her act like this, especially in front of a personality extremely unlike her own.
While many players deemed the collaboration to be “underrated” other fans highlighted just how well a relationship could blossom between the two personalities.
“I honestly think Lae’zel and Gale would make a phenomenal couple” commented one user, going on to say how the two “both genuinely love to learn and explore, and I can just see Lae’zel making Gale feel like he’s enough the way he is through her blunt honesty and conviction. On the flip side, his gestures of deep romantic affection are Lae’zel’s actual love language. I can only imagine she’d find the weave scene truly touching.”
Others shared how much they “love the dynamic between Gale and Lae’zel” adding how “they are a genuine joy to listen to because she really wants to learn from him and she comes across as enjoying teaching him.”
Curiosity seems to be the primary reason why the two work so well, and why they may just be one of the most unlikely and underrated pairings in the game.
