One Baldur’s Gate 3 player has highlighted a “missed opportunity” for Orin’s questline, and fans are obsessed with the new idea.

In a game as expansive as Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s practically impossible to get everything right and how players would have liked it. Thankfully, according to high review scores, an substantial player base, and a community that loves to sing its praises, Baldur’s Gate 3 undeniably got most aspects of its game right.

However, that doesn’t stop players from suggesting a few missed opportunities for certain quests. Now, one player has done just that, and fans love the idea so much that they’re now calling for it to be added in a future update.

Baldur’s Gate 3 player suggests “hilarious” Orin quest changes

Sharing the idea on Reddit, one user shared @meggannn’s Orin quest idea, explaining that there was a key “missed opportunity in BG3.”

“missed opportunity in BG3 to have Orin transform as you and just be there when you arrive back at camp chilling with the companions you didn’t take that day, and you have a ‘prove who’s the real you’ scene where you have to roll to convince those not in your present team that you are who you say you are” shared the poster.

While they can be frustrating to encounter, the ‘prove who’s the real you’ scenes are among some of the most memorable in gaming and can make the Orin quest all the more hilarious. Especially when the player highlighted that your standing with the companions would make the convincing easier or harder, and could sway the upcoming battle to take Orin down.

Fans immediately fell in love with the idea, with many jumping to the comments to share how this quest could work.

“If you have Scratch, he’d be able to smell the difference and be on your side, too” added one player, while another thought about the consequences of playing a Dark Urge in this scenario: “This would also be hilarious for a resist Durge too, cause I imagine orin would imitate how you used to act not realizing how much you’ve potentially changed.”

It’s clear, fans adore this idea, so much so that one user hoped that “6 months from now, the Bhaalspawn rework patch” would arrive, making this dream a reality.

While it seems unlikely to see such an overhaul of a key quest, this wouldn’t be the first time Larian Studios have made larger changes in their game, especially considering the addition of the epilogue, although that had less consequences than defeating Orin and many companions in one go.
