Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise Patch 6’s quality-of-life improvements
Larian StudiosFollowing the release of Patch 6 last week, Baldur’s Gate 3 players are sharing their favorite new quality-of-life improvements.
Baldur’s Gate 3 recently received its first major update of 2024.
Patch 6 makes a variety of fixes and overall improvements to the game, with Larian emphasizing its new kiss animations ahead of its release.
However, the most popular and widely-praised changes in Patch 6 are its quality-of-life improvements, which make Baldur’s Gate 3 a bit less tedious overall.

One such conversation started with a post to the BaldursGate3 subreddit by Tiny_Celebration_262, who said, “STFU about the kisses, this is the best thing from patch 6” with an image of them hovering over a spell.
Now, the box includes a warning that casting this spell will break the character’s active Concentration. Since launch, this has been a frequent mistake among players, especially those who aren’t familiar with Dungeons & Dragons mechanics.
“I noticed! it has already saved me 3 times just this afternoon lol,” responded one player.
“Man I’ve wasted so many turns accidentally breaking my Haste concentration lol,” said another.
Others have shared their personal favorite quality-of-life improvements from Patch 6, with the option to dismiss party members when speaking to a character you want to add being among the most praised.
Still, others have pointed out issues with the patch, such as the removal of the option to send items to specific characters in Camp via the inventory while exploring. Why this option, which was introduced in a previous patch, was removed is unclear, leading some to suspect it’s a bug.
Some have also encountered bugs with the new dismissal option and additional audio syncing issues.
It’s likely a new Hotfix will be released in the coming weeks to address some of Patch 6’s rough edges, but overall, it seems the update is a step in the right direction.
