Battlefield’s Battle Royale Mode Will Feature a Wall of Fire Instead of a Storm

The first glimpse of how Battlefield V’s battle royale mode has been shared in a trailer ahead of Gamescom.

It was widely suspected that Battlefield would get in on the BR craze after the success of games such as Fortnite and PUBG, but questions had been asked about how they’d make it different. A new trailer has helped answer that.

The official BF account Tweeted out their cinematic trailer ahead of the annual Gamescom convention in Germany, and at the end of the video we were all treated to an idea of how BR will work.

In both Fortnite and PUBG you are allowed a limited amount of time inside the storm as the circle closes in over the course of the game, however in BF V, that’s set to change.

The trailer appeared to show a huge fall of fire that slowly encompassed the map, destroying buildings and people in its path.

Although unconfirmed, it’s expected that the storm will move at a constant pace, rather than burst periods as found in other BR titles.

Battlefield V is set to release worldwide on October 19th.
